pd|hub Scientific Societies Group
Scientific societies play a direct and active role in the career and professional development of early-career scientists, often providing discipline-specific career and professional development resources and programming that supplement departmental and university-wide offerings. Scientific societies also provide opportunities for faculty, students, and alumni to come together, working across cross-institutional and cross-sector boundaries, toward enriching professional development both within their society and in their local settings. Inspired by discussions held at pd|hub's 2019 Stakeholder Workshop, representatives from scientific societies formed the Scientific Societies Group in partnership with pd|hub to collaborate on cross-disciplinary projects (including a recent webinar series) and to share ideas and resources for mutual benefit, and to advance change.

Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science (SACNAS)SACNAS is an inclusive organization whose mission is to foster the success of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans, from college students to professionals, in attaining advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). SACNAS provides STEM career development through its many programs and resources, including the NDiSTEM conference. Everyone is welcome to be a part of the SACNAS community. |
